Works faster as a normal conventional ether-glycol type neutralizer. Pour the liquid into a dye pot. Heat up to normal tinting temperature. Insert lens mounted onto a lens holder and into hot liquid. Check lens periodically every few minutes and remove from liquid when tint has bleached to the wanted density Rinse lens under water and dry. When evaporation occurs just add tap water and continue use until removing action is depleted.
No caution needed as this is a totally
surfactant and water based and safe solution that
will not damage any lens type. POLYCARBONATES and HIGH INDEX
lenses can safely be treated with this solution.
As this solution is water based, there will
be some liquid loss through evaporation. Just add more tap water and
continue working with it. Even while the liquid does not create immediate problems on the skin and otherwise, caution should be exercised. Any body contact with chemical materials should be avoided. This new product works as well and as fast, or faster than any of the best of the conventional lens neutralizers that work only on CR39 Lenses with the added benefit that it will not damage any lens surfaces whatsoever. Neutralizer SF is made in as a ready to use solution. It can be used in a conventional dye pot or with the Micro-Tint System. Application is the same as in conventional neutralizers, just heat up and insert lenses. It is available through OMS directly or some of its distributors. (Distributors wanted) THIS PRODUCT IS AVAILABLE IN 1 LITER BOTTLES IN A READY TO USER VERSION There will be no dangerous fumes or smells when heated, as the formulation contains only surfactants that are liquefied in water.
No disposal regulations apply to this fully biodegradable product. It is safe to pour down the sink when used up.
WARNING ! ABOUT FAKE INFORMATION ON MSDS SHEET'S CIRCULATED BY NEARLY ALL LENS DYE SUPPLIERS Hot neutralizer fumes (ethylene glycol, glycol ethers), will damage kidneys and liver. Don't expose yourself, your employees or even your customers. Read up on health hazards of conventional lens dye neutralizers and removers. Ether and ethylene Glycol based lens dye neutralizers (tint removing solvents), which are the standard variety, are very toxic, and their fumes, when heated are highly damaging to kidneys and liver. We can find tinting units with hot lens dyes and toxic neutralizers being heated in the smallest and not ventilated areas in optical laboratories and in the back of optical stores all over the world. Most or many of the larger optical lens dye supply manufacturers publish MSDS forms even over the internet, that do not mention the health dangers of heated ether glycol solutions. Some optical stores are situated in office buildings or shopping centers which are using re-circulating heating and air-conditioning systems. In these cases the toxic fumes are not only inhaled by the workers in the optical laboratory or store, they are also carried in the air system around the whole building. This is another reason why, at OMS the idea came up to revolutionize the optical lens tinting industry with a totally new technique that will do away with the present archaic system that had not changed over 30 years.
