  • Prepares A-R and Hardcoat stripped lenses for Re-Coating.
  • Neutralizes all remainig acids of the A-R Stripper.

A-R and Hardcoat Strippers contain several different acids that leak into the lens pores of CR39 lenses. These acids prevent proper adhesion of a new coating through outgassing. The acid neutralizer actually neutralizes these acids and gets the lens ready for recoating.

How to Treat a Lens

After an A-R Coating or a Hardcoating has been stripped, insert the lens into the solution for 15 minutes. Remove it and rinse under fresh water. Dry lens and let it sit for 2 hours or place into oven to dry out lens pores. Then proceed to recoat lens.

Caution

The acid neutralizer is a chemical that is not dangerous to the immediate touch. There will be no burns. Every chemical can be dangerous in high concentrations. Always protect yourself with gloves, goggles and clothing. A material safety data sheet is available.

Disposal

As with all other chemical products, used acid neutralizer should be disposed off according to local, state/provincial, or federal law.
