This page is record how the garage on picture.....totally destroyed by a twister during hurricane Wilma...........was being rebuild by a contractor, that is stalling the project, way after the contractual limits.
Six month's after hurricane Wilma hit the Naples area and did considerable damage specially in East Naples most of the damage is still not repaired.. Until February contractors being called for repair estimates would not even answer telephone calls. Construction in Naples is still booming and repair jobs are not interesting enough. Insurance payments came in late, it could take up to four month to receive payment contrary to Florida government instructions to make payments in full, out front.
At this date there are still thousands of houses with blue tarps on their roofs in Naples and surrounding Collier County. The city of Naples and Collier County did a wonderful job, cleaning up the debris from all inhabited areas.
This wood frame garage covered with aluminum siding got destroyed by a mini tornado during hurricane Wilma. The tornado ripped off the roof, carried it over the house and deposited the whole roof in the middle of the golf course. The the wind force of the hurricane had an open field to knock down the walls. There is still a car and two scooters parked inside the debris 2 hours after the hurricane made its path. The houses on the right and left of this one showed no damage whatsoever. While the second house over had it's car port blown away.
