This is the last one of the big boats the Shepard Boat Co of Niagara on the Lake made. It is truly one of the most beautiful classics. This boat has been the eye catcher over every new plastic boat wherever we docked her over the last many years. We have been regulars on the Rideau Canal System and the 1000 Island area every summer for the last 18 years. This boat has been painted so that the hull looks like a mirror and many comments where made stating: “this is a nice job of making it look like a wooden hull”.
Surveyed, Fully surveyed in spring 2000. Fresh Water Boat.
Hull: Double Plank Mahogany, 50x15’ , Draft 3.5’ Ex tended keel, Totally overhauled and refitted 1997. New transom. Deck fiber glassed, Cabin top and flying bridge fiber glassed. Teak Swim platform. Davits .
Flying Brige enclosure stainless railing with plexi glass. New stainless Bimini Top. All controls in waterproof environment. (no need for covers) Seating space for 10 persons. 2 VHF antennas, 1 cellular phone antenna. Captain and mate swivel chairs, Couch, mahogany ladder from back deck.
Back deck. Beautiful original mahogany deck below carpet. Plexi glass enclosed. 2 mahogany varnished doors. Rattan eating group ultra suede covered for 5, Bar around driving station with 3 stools. All varnished mahogany environment.
Steering station and full controls. Drivers seat/bench newly recovered with fabric this spring 2001.No radar. VHF, Depth sounder, automatic pilot.
Telephone system including Fax works from landline or cellular. (5 extensions).
Main Salon contains 2 large black leather recliners and one white leather chair.
Sliding doors along hull side for storage. Satellite TV system, Stereo sound system. 800 W inverter with 3 batteries, charger and extra outlets in main stateroom , TV and dining area. Fully automatic Constavolt charger for main batteries and control panel for charging and generator starting.
Sliding windows changed to watertight RV type aluminum.
Dining area across from galley, U shape settee around dining table. Newly recovered with fabric.
4 steps down from main salon. Port side full head with separate tiled shower.
Guest Cabin 2 bunks and closet. 3rd head was converted into storage room with a small washing machine. Also contains electric panel.
Owners stateroom 14 x 8 feet with closets credenza and 2 double beds situated on each side above fuel tanks. 2 portholes on each side and also on transom. Rear bilge pump 12V automatic
Engine room below main salon, accessible by lifting stairs to rear cabins, or though main salon floor boards.
2 x 8 cylinder Cummins 901 diesel engines at 300 HP each. Original engines .Engines used between 60 to 85 hours per year for the last 20 years (log book).. New oil coolers installed 1996. 13 KW Onan diesel generator with its own bank of 3 batteries. 30 Gallon fuel Tank. 3 Water tanks total 300 Gallons. Battery bank of 3 x 9D Heavy duty batteries for house and starting. 12V automatic bilge pump. Spare short shafts. Spare screws.
Accessory compartment below galley accessible by lifting stairs to forward cabin. Contains 110 V hot water tank (fully recovered in 20 minutes). Air-conditioning unit. And forward 12V automatic bilge pump. Also 110Volt powerful bilge pump used in spring during launch. (Hull tightens after launch within 6 to 8 hours) Multi-Outlet water pressure pump. (have 2 spares for quick interchange if needed)
Electric, Two 30 Amp 110V circuits. One for normal house use and 2nd one for air-conditioning and small electric heaters if needed or other uses of extra electric power if needed. Extra outlets in some areas. Fuse panel in main salon, 12 fuse panel in rear guest cabin.
60’ long by 20’ wide and 35’high. In sections of 8x25 feet covered with shrink warp. Easy to assemble and dissemble. Brand new Fall 2000. Boat had always been stored in its own shed during winter.
