We have been regulars on the Rideau  Canal System and the 1000 Island area every summer for the last 18 years. Niagara Plant to close in Feb.

Shepherd Boats Limited has advised the Minister of Labour of its decision to discontinue production at its Niagara-on-the-Lake and Smithville facilities by February 28, 1978.
The necessity for this action is regrettable, the president of Shepherd Boats stated, but was based on adverse economic conditions that have been of concern to the Company for some time.
The Company will be working with representatives of the United Steelworkers of America, Local 6520, the Ontario Employment Standards Branch and Canada Manpower to do everything possible to assist in the relocation of employees.
The number of employees affected by this closing is approximately 136.
